About Sue:

Sue is a highly accomplished equine orthopaedic specialist, graduating from Cambridge (1980) and completing advanced training at the University of Pennsylvania. With 37 years of clinical experience at the Animal Health Trust, she’s a recognized expert in lameness and poor performance. She holds a PhD, RCVS Fellowship and Diploma in Equine Orthopaedics, and is a Founding Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation.

A prolific author and lecturer, she has over 330 publications, including co-editing major veterinary texts. She’s received numerous prestigious awards for her contributions to equine veterinary medicine, including induction into the International Equine Veterinarians Hall of Fame and the University of Kentucky Equine Research Hall of Fame.

Beyond her clinical work, Sue is a former British Eventing veterinary advisor and holds BHSI certifications, demonstrating her deep understanding of equine performance and welfare.
