About Nigel…
Some twenty years ago when I was having issues with my horse, I discovered a paperback by Monty Roberts, his first book, that put me on a course towards Kelly Marks and Intelligent Horsemanship. I found their methods illuminating and was inspired from the first foundation course and the instructors at Hartsop Farm, to continue with as much as I could with the kind, knowledgeable and sympathetic teaching methods, with the aim of becoming a Recommended Trainer.
I would regard Horseback Archery with my horses as fun. Though it can be taken as mindfulness. But I would regard basic groundwork as essential to have as a foundation for whatever else follows. I would like to help people have relaxed calm horses around them that make asking them to stand, lead, load and ride a pleasurable partnership for both horse and human. Remove the conflict for harmony, there is a way to feeling safe around a horse, which is a two-way thing, for both horse and human.
Having the training with Intelligent Horsemanship, which I am so glad to be a part of, has enabled me to be able to help others with problems they may be having. I love working with the client to solve issues with general handling, also teaching long lining, loading, picking up feet, and finding ways to deal with confidence/spookiness issues.
