Hello ,

This may surprise you but… I don’t actually want to be labelled ‘a behaviourist’.

The term is far too narrow. Yes, on my online horse psychology course we certainly look at 'behaviourism', after all, we need to know how we’re being trained by Facebook ‘likes’ for one thing (!) and we need to understand the importance of timing and all the rest of it – but we don't want to be restricted into thinking horses are binary creatures.

What you need is a teacher with real-life experience to point out all the ‘Unexpected Consequences’ 🤦‍ – and good news – you've got one 😊

This could be one of Intelligent Horsemanship’s strongest points (though there are many) you need to know ‘what happens when ‘the theory’ doesn’t work?’ Yes, you’ll get the science and evidence-based information but you'll also get plenty of actual case studies thrown in – we promise to keep it fun as well as educational!

Horse and Grassland Management Webinar with Equiculture

This Wednesday we were joined by Jane Myers of Equiculture for a brilliant webinar which is now available as a recording!

Jane, and her husband Stuart, offer education and resources for people who own, manage or work with horses and the land those horses live on. Find out more about Equiculture.

Equiculture teaches horse owners how to manage their land in a way that is good for:

  • HORSES – by improving their welfare.
  • PEOPLE – by saving them time and money.
  • The ENVIRONMENT – by improving biodiversity & soil, creating habitat for wildlife, etc. A true win-win-win.

You can learn via their books, online courses, face-to-face talks, consultations and of course, get started with our watching the recording!

Watch the Recording

P.S. Know a fellow horse owner who could benefit from this? Share this email with them so they can also benefit from what IH has to offer!
