Hi lovely,

It’s Abi here,

just popping in with a ‘head’s up’ on a few dates for your diary.

And first things first… don’t miss your chance to join James Cooling’s webinar tomorrow night at 7pm.

So if you’ve been meaning to book your ticket, or telling yourself ‘I must remember’ to watch for free as a member… this is your nudge.

If you’ve managed to miss my other emails, tomorrow’s webinar is:

Getting to Know Your Horse’s Head: How Anatomy Shapes Movement and Behaviour with Dr James Cooling

Wednesday 20th May 2026 @ 7pm (NOT 8PM!)

I always think James has a brilliant way of making you look at something familiar like the horses head… and realise there’s rather more going on than you thought!

Which is both fascinating and mildly inconvenient ;).

The one thing I think I haven’t shared already about this webinar is in-fact… It’s original description, so here’s a snippet to help you understand what its all about:

“Recent research highlights how traditional or poorly fitting bridles, nosebands, and halters can affect the sensitive anatomy of a horse’s head—impacting nerve function, muscle tension, biomechanics, comfort, and long-term welfare. In this online session, we’ll explore how these factors show up in behaviour, why good horsemanship means seeing behaviour as communication, and how to question discomfort before labelling a horse as difficult. We’ll also look at how small, practical changes in fit, pressure, dental care, and expectations can make a meaningful difference. ”

Also Coming Up…

May Prize Draw: Saddle Care Essentials Package

Our May Members’ Prize Draw is open, and this month you can enter to win a Saddle Care Essentials Package, kindly sponsored by Smart Saddles.

A genuinely useful prize, especially if your tack-cleaning routine is currently more “good intentions” than “actual follow-through”.

No judgement if that’s you… That’s me too! (do you think I can get away with entering?)

Wednesday 3rd June: Ask the Experts

Then we have our Ask the Experts webinar with Kelly Marks and other experienced members of the IH team.

These sessions are always worth coming to, because they’re based on real horses, real questions and real-life “what on earth is going on here?” moments.

Let us know your questions in advance by email office@ihhq.net.

Whether that be loading, groundwork, handling, confidence, behaviour, and so on…

Wednesday 8th July: Exclusive IH Members Webinar

And finally, a little exclusive and elusive save-the-date for IH Members.

A members-only IH webinar evening with a pleasing air of secrecy. No public tickets, no grand fanfare, just a private preview for IH members willing to come along, listen in, and help shape something new. Details will be sent to members only. Smoking jackets optional. Horses, as always, compulsory in spirit.

More detail to follow!

So, in short:

Plenty to look forward to, and plenty to learn.

See you tomorrow,

– Abi Pass MSc Vet Phys & The Intelligent Horsemanship Team
