Description

A huge part of what makes our relationships with our horses joyful and satisfying is our ability to communicate clearly with them. There are two very important parts to communication: what we want to express, and what we are actually expressing from the horse’s perspective. Often these can be quite different and a big reason that our relationships can seem to go off track.

In order to understand what our horses are taking from our communication we need to understand the different ways in which we show up in a conversation with them; physically, energetically and emotionally so we can learn to communicate clearly and congruently on all these levels. Being able to do this increases the connection, harmony and joy we can experience with our horses.

Donna Blinman BVSc MRCVS BSc EDO Cert. SCVA Cert. LMI is a qualified veterinary surgeon and equine osteopath and she runs her own practice treating horses holistically for injury, illness and behavioural problems. The cornerstone of her work is to identify and work with the underlying cause of symptoms not just the symptoms themselves.

Working with the horses stress levels and emotional health is a hugely important part of doing this . Donna works with horses owners through her life coaching practice to help them become more aware of what they are energetically and emotionally bringing to the dynamic with their horses.

Bridget has been a Recommended Trainer for Intelligent Horsemanship since 2010, and is also an Enlightened Equitation coach. She aims to guide owners to better relationships with their horses through an understanding of how our horses see and perceive the world. Despite being a behaviour trainer Bridget believes that true ‘behavioural problems’ are pretty rare and that most problems we experience with our horses are a result of physical, mental or emotional discomfort that the horse is communicating through it’s behaviour. At the heart of her training is an awareness of ‘self’ and how deeply, how we show up can impact our horses.

Together Bridget and Donna run an online membership called Joy of Connection which aims to bring all of these ideas together in a supportive learning environment with a like minded community of other horse owners.
