On this two day course you will learn about the science behind feeding, equine behavioural issues related to feeding, feeding for performance, for medical concerns, and more from Ian Vandenberghe at his own Equine Training Centre at Hartsop Farm in Witney.  This course would suit a wide range of equestrians from those in the equine performance industry to the average horse owner wanting to ensure that they are feeding the best thing for their horse.

On This Course You Will Learn:

Day 1 – Feeding & Nutrition

♞ How to identify the different feeds
♞ How to analyse grass conservation
♞ The rules for feeding
♞ How, why and when to worm
♞ How the digestive system works
♞ Metabolic problems

 

♞  Functional horse anatomy (bones, tendons and ligaments)
♞ Gait analysis in relation to soundness and levelness
♞ Major lameness
♞  Fitness and health assessments
♞ Hoof care
♞ Alternative therapies

 

Further Information:

Ian Vandenberghe is a Monty Roberts Master Instructor and one of the very first Intelligent Horsemanship Recommended Trainers. Ian is a qualified farrier, BHSAI Instructor, a former Stud Groom at Aston Park and an experienced stud manager.

Each student completing the course will be issued with a certificate stating completion which may be used against future certification of the Intelligent Horsemanship Diploma and the Monty Roberts Introductory Course of Horsemanship. From here you may wish to become a Monty Roberts Instructor by completing your training at Flag is Up Farms, California OR to become an Intelligent Horsemanship Recommended Trainer.

You will need to be a member of the Intelligent Horsemanship Association (if not already a member).
